What’s the best way to lose weight in a week?

If you need to lose weight in a week then you have a real challenge on your hands, because weight loss is best if it happens slowly and steadily. Obviously the fastest way to lose weight in a week is to stop eating, but then this is also a very unhealthy approach to weight loss, and one that is never recommended. Every body needs the regular intake of healthy food and drink to help it function correctly, and stopping eating can do far more harm than good. There are times when it is necessary to stop eating, in the case of extreme diarrhoea, when a doctor may recommend no food for a day or two until the stomach can handle it, but in these cases, the body needs fluids to replaced with electrolytes otherwise severe dehydration could occur.

It should be remembered that you should see a medical professional before starting any diet or exercise plan, to make sure your body is healthy enough to handle a reduced intake, as well as exercise. Your doctor can also monitor your weight loss to make sure it isn’t too much all at once. He or she will also be able to advise you on the number of calories to eat each day that are good for someone your age, height and build, and will follow your weight loss success to make sure it is not having a harmful effect on your health.

There are many approaches to weight loss, with numerous diets too many to mention, and plenty of pills and drugs which are advertised as weight loss products. However, this site does not recommend the taking of drugs or pills for weight loss, believing that it is something that can be achieved by controlling the food we eat, and the quantity, along with exercise.

Eating a healthy diet that is full of fruits and vegetables is important, as well as eating foods from the cereal group and the protein family. However, we all tend to over eat, by a little or a lot, and on things that have little place in a healthy diet. This is a ridiculous amount of sugar to be consuming, as it works out to between 2 and 3 pounds per week! Now in our defence, we do not always realize how much sugar is added to various prepackaged foods, but most of us do know that pop is heavily laden with sugar, which is why low calorie pop has become so important to many.

So, a suggestion for you, is to take a look at your diet, and see how much sugar you are consuming. You may be surprised, and horrified at all these unnecessary calories you are eating. So, try to reduce the amount of sugar in your diet. This reduction will help your weight loss, as well as your general health.

Take a look at your salt intake as well. You are probably eating way too much sodium in your diet too, especially if you eat a lot of fast food, or prepackaged foods.

The next tip is to reduce the size of your servings, so that you eat a little less at each meal, as this will help you to lose weight in a week. If you reduce the serving size too much, you may have to add a few snacks into your diet, but in fact this can help you lose weight, as your stomach can process smaller amounts more efficiently, you will get less indigestion and will feel much better as a result. More smaller meals a day are recommended over one or two large meals, so give this a try too, and see if this is the best way for you to lose  weight in a week.
